Types of Kitchen Sinks:

• Undermount kitchen sinks: This is a common sink for a minimalist kitchen. It is mounted below a countertop and creates a flow from the countertop into the sink. These sinks are best suited for countertops made from solid surface materials, such as marble, granite, quartz and concrete. Without having an exposed rim from the countertop into the sink, it is easy to clean and takes up less space. *We think this is the best kitchen sink*
• Drop-in kitchen sinks: This sink, also called self-rimming or top-mount, is mounted to the top-side of a countertop with a visible lip around the perimeter that rest flat. Easier to install and can be used with all countertop material, including laminate and tile.
• Farmhouse kitchen sinks: A farmhouse or apron sink is dropped in a countertop with an exposed front-facing side. These sinks are made large and deep and require proper bracing for their added weight. They vary in material, ranging from copper to fireclay, granite and stainless steel.  You can also order them with three choices: Positive Reveal – most of the top flat edge is visible; Neutral Reveal – sink sits flush with vertical edge; Negative Reveal – the countertop covers the top edge of the sink.
• Integrated kitchen sink: An integrated or integral sink is fabricated using the same material as the countertop – a solid surface material, like Corian. The counter flows seamlessly into the sink.  Since these are custom-made, it is more commonly used in a bathroom, not a kitchen.

Cleaning Recommendations for the Julien Classic Kitchen Sink:

• Daily cleaning with soapy water and wrung-out cloth. Rinse clear with water and air dry.
• These “flat-bottom” bowls ensure adequate water drainage, but completely dry the sink to avoid water spots.
• For oil and grease stains, rub the surface with cloth soaked in soapy water and a detergent that is safe for stainless steel.
• Badly neglected surface stains and grime deposits can be removed with a non-abrasive cream or mild polish. Do not use scouring powders or pastes which can damage stainless steel.
